Fr. Gerard Francisco Timoner III, O.P. was elected by the General Chapter Biên Hoà in Vietnam, 13 July, 2019.
Fr. Timoner, who is aged 51, is the 87th Successor of St Dominic – the 88th Master of the Order.
He is the first Asian ever to hold this position.
Born in Camarines Norte, the Philippines, he has served as Rector of the UST Central Seminary and as Prior Provincial of the Philippines, and as the former Master’s Socius for Asia Pacific. He is currently a member of the Vatican’s International Theological Commission.
We pray for the new Master, that the Lord God who has begun this good work in him will bring it to completion in Christ.
